Endorsements 2023

During each election cycle the general body of our organization meets with candidates to discuss their positions and platforms. Afterward, we engage in rigorous internal political debate and vote as a body to make endorsements. Our endorsement does not come lightly. You can be sure that each candidates below is committed to advancing progressive causes in the 25th Ward and beyond.

Byron Sigcho-Lopez for 25th Ward Alderperson

In his current term, Byron has fought for the development of 800 units of affordable housing in the 25th ward, passed legislation to stymie the predatory practices of real estate developers, and successfully worked to expand access to Low-Income Housing Trust Funds for undocumented immigrants.

Brandon Johnson for Mayor of Chicago

We are proud to endorse a campaign that is going to revive Chicago, fight for treatment not trauma, provide investment into real solutions for public safety, and demand affordable housing block by block.
